PARABLES 1.1 : His Word
Hebrews 4:12 says For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. There are four highlights in this verse. 1. Alive and Active !! When the word of God is proclaimed to be alive and active, how much more alive and active is the God who delivers these words. We are discussing about a living God. 2. Double edged sword !! Oh it is not just a double edged sword which has alternating consequences where it can make a proud soul, humble and a perverse spirit, obedient, but sharper than any double edged sword 3. Penetrates to divide soul and spirit, joints and marrow !! The word of God through the holy spirit has the ability to separate and cut off the sinful habits which have become natural to our soul 4. Judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart !! The word has help men/women discover the true thoughts and purposes of th eir
